Biography
Eduardo Moreno is an international artist, born in Havana, Cuba.
A graduate of the Amadeo Roldán Conservatory and the Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA), both in Havana, Eduardo holds a strong academic grounding as a classical guitarist.
His interest in the popular music of his homeland led him to explore it in depth, performing and collaborating with some of the island’s leading exponents.
Across his career as a professional musician, he has shared stages with a wide range of international musicians, working across composition and music production.
Eduardo has taken part in major international tours, performing on some of the world’s most significant stages, including the Montreux Jazz Festival and the Bal de la Rose, hosted by the Princess of Monaco. His music has been performed in more than 50 cities across Europe and recorded in Cuba, Colombia and Germany.
Today, based in Medellín, Colombia, he leads his own musical project, Eduardo Moreno & Okocán. In this new chapter, his music has taken him to stages in Paris, London and Mexico.
“Of the heart” in Yoruba, the Afro‑Cuban language. The name Eduardo Moreno chose to give this project its identity — a bandleader, singer and composer focused on son and the roots of Cuban music, seasoned with a fresher, more contemporary aesthetic and musical language.
